The “macro” part in this application’s name refers to the fact that you can use it to record, edit, and create macros. And, as I am sure you already know, macros can be used to automate all sorts of tasks. Instead of doing things yourself, you can use a macro to automatically get things done.

Macro Toolworks Free is the baby in Pitrinec Software’s range of Macro Toolworks products. You see, Macro Toolworks is available as a Free, Standard, and Free Edition. As you can see in this chart, the Free edition has the least amount of features to offer. you don’t have to pay anything, but you can’t export macros to HTML, protect content with AES encryption, access certain commands, and more.

To get Macro Toolworks Free up and running on a Windows PC, you will have to complete a fairly straightforward installation process. When you’re done with the installation, you will be invited to check out a tutorial in PDF format.

All three Macro Toolworks editions have the same three-pane interface: a macro groups tree to the left, a list of macros in the upper right hand side, macro editing options in the lower right hand side. Said interface provides support for multiple languages: English, German, Czech, and Chinese.

Several macros come bundled with Macro Toolworks Free. Their purpose it give you a quick look at what can be done with Macro Toolworks Free. If you want to create macros of your own, you’ll be glad to know that you can use a Macro Recording function to record mouse movements, mouse clicks, and keyboard keystrokes. You’ll also be glad to know that there’s a Macro Wizard that will guide you through the steps you need to take to create a macro.

Every time you launch Macro Toolworks Free, a prompt will invite you to try the Standard or the Professional Edition. They can be used for free, for evaluation purposes, for a trial period of 30 days.

Macro Toolworks Free is a handy tool for creating and running macros. But it doesn’t have as much to offer as Macro Toolworks Standard or Macro Toolworks Professional.

Pros

There’s nothing complicated about installing Macro Toolworks Free on a Windows PC. The application has a simple three-pane interface that provides support for multiple languages. Use Macro Toolworks Free to record, edit, and run macros.

Cons

Macro Toolworks Free has the least amount of features to offer.
